A brief introduction

After nearly thirty years of searching, Jason Taylor-Mann receives his original birth certificate and learns his mother’s name. Within days, he finds his siblings—but also learns that his mother has died. Days With My Mother follows his search and the relationships that grow after reunion, as he comes to know his mother through her children’s memories and makes room for both the Taylors and the Manns in his life.

Short author biography

Jason Taylor-Mann is a Director of Project Management and a new author whose memoir, Days With My Mother: An Adoption Memoir, follows his nearly thirty-year search for his roots. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens by the Taylor family, he reunited with seven siblings in 2020 after receiving his original birth certificate. Their memories helped him come to know his mother, who had died before the reunion. A husband and father of two, Jason writes about identity, grief, healing, and belonging while honoring both the family who raised him and the family he found.
